If you receive the error message "Installation must be on a local drive" it could be an issue with permissions relating to your Windows temp folder. You may need to install the software with administrator privileges.

You can try installing through the Administrative Command Prompt:

  • Click the Start button
  • Type CMD
  • Right-click the Command Prompt and select Run as administrator
  • On the User Account Control, click the Yes button if prompted
  • On the Administrator command prompt, type cd c:\Users\[YOUR USER NAME]\Downloads and press Enter. (This assumes the installer is in your downloads folder)
  • On the Administrator command prompt, type msiexec /i DuplicateCleaner-Setup-5.msi and press Enter.  This should start the installation.
