Q: The installer won't run, stops partway through, or shows an error. What should I do first?
A: Try the basics before anything else: right-click the installer and choose "Run as administrator", make sure the download completed fully (re-download it if the file size looks wrong), and temporarily disable any third-party antivirus, which can block MSI installers. Restart your PC and try again.

Q: I get an error like "Another installation is in progress", "The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed", or a message about a previous version that can't be removed. What now?
A: These usually mean the Windows Installer database has a broken or leftover entry from an earlier install or uninstall. This is where the Microsoft troubleshooter helps.

Q: How do I use the Microsoft troubleshooter?
A: Please use the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter tool at this link (click on the Windows 10 tab; it works on Windows 11 too):
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/install-upgrade/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed

Download and run the tool, choose "Installing" when asked whether you're having a problem installing or uninstalling, and follow the prompts. If our program appears in the list, select it; if not, choose "Not Listed". The tool repairs corrupted registry keys and installer data that block new installs. When it finishes, run our installer again.

Q: I previously had an older version installed. Should I remove it first?
A: Yes, if possible. Uninstall it from Settings > Apps > Installed apps. If the uninstall fails or the program isn't listed, run the troubleshooter above and choose "Uninstalling" instead, then select the old version to remove its leftover entries before installing the new one.

Q: The troubleshooter didn't fix it. Anything else to try?
A: Make sure the Windows Installer service is running: press Win+R, type services.msc, find "Windows Installer", and start it if it's stopped. Also install any pending Windows updates and reboot. If it still fails, note the exact error message or code and contact support with it, along with your Windows version.

Q: Is it safe to run the Microsoft troubleshooter?
A: Yes. It's an official Microsoft tool that only fixes installer-related registry entries and doesn't remove your personal files or other programs.
